North Carolina is the first state in the country to launch a
statewide Schools Attuned Program initiative. The Schools Attuned Program is
offered in North Carolina in partnership with the North Carolina Department of
Public Instruction. Thanks to an appropriation from the North Carolina General
Assembly which covers the cost of the per participant tuition, teams of public
school educators from regions across the state are entitled to the benefits of
this program at a cost of only $100 for the non-refundable registration fee.
The focus of the Schools Attuned Program, North Carolina is
to build the capacity of public schools to address the learning differences of
their students by developing a team of school leaders. To accomplish this goal,
schools participating in the Schools Attuned Program, North Carolina agree to
send a team of four to six educators, including an administrator or faculty
member in a leadership position in the school. To participate in the Schools
Attuned State Program, North Carolina, a public school must commit to:
| |
> |
having a significant number of its teachers, administration,
and support staff trained over a period of years
|
| |
> |
taking time to plan as a school team
|
| |
> |
making its best effort to incorporate the philosophy and
practices of Schools Attuned throughout the school.
