The content will focus on innovative assessment and management strategies for school-aged children using neurodevelopmental constructs: (1) attention, (2) memory, (3) language, (4) neuromotor function, (5) temporal-sequential ordering, (6) spatial ordering, (7) higher order cognition, and (8) social cognition. All participants will be presented with a conceptual model of development and learning, innovative assessment strategies that link the results from direct testing to family and school history, and strategies to help clinicians manage a child’s unique profile of strengths and weaknesses. Sessions also will be available for clinicians who primarily screen for learning difficulties and challenges.
At the conclusion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
| > |
Describe neurodevelopmental functions and forms of their dysfunction
|
| > |
Develop assessment approaches based on a neurodevelopmental framework
|
| > |
Design and implement effective management strategies for children and adolescents with attention, learning, or behavior problems
|
