rushing through tests and guessing at answers
Posted: 06 Nov 2008 11:58 AM
Hi--I tutor grade school children. I have a student who is recovering from cancer. His reading has greatly improved over the past year and he has good comprehension. He has acquired the habit of rushing through questions on a test he is taking and guessing the answers. This happens whether he understands the material or if it is new material. Most of the time he comprehends the subject but quickly gives an answer even if it doesn't pertain to the subject. He has just entered high school and is progressing well with his math. I realize that some of this just teenage impatience. Can anyone suggest how I can help him change this bad habit?
