All Kinds of Minds Selects European Partner for Professional Development Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARCH 15, 2007

Oak Hill School Foundation Will Further Schools Attuned Program as it Educates Teachers about the Science of Learning

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—All Kinds of Minds, which has developed the research-based Schools Attuned Program for helping teachers address differences in learning, has named Oak Hill School Foundation of Geneva, Switzerland as its European provider of services.

The Schools Attuned Program is a comprehensive professional development initiative that offers educators proven methods for recognizing, understanding and managing students who are struggling in school largely because their brains are “wired” differently. The content of the program is based on the most recent research in the science of learning, and the program’s design is aligned with the professional development standards of the National Staff Development Council.

“We are proud that Oak Hill will carry our message and commitment to understanding the neurodevelopmental framework to the international school community. Oak Hill is an innovative learning organization and shares our vision for delivering high quality professional development,” says Mary-Dean Barringer, CEO, All Kinds of Minds.

“Schools Attuned has already reached more than 35,000 teachers across the globe, and we look forward to helping that number grow via this new partnership. The initial reception to Schools Attuned has been very positive,” says Paul Nichols, Director of Teacher Learning at the Oak Hill School Foundation.

The inaugural Schools Attuned courses in Europe were held in Switzerland during August 2003. Since then, educators and health care professionals from many European countries have participated in the program.

All Kinds of Minds, a non-profit institute, was co-founded in 1995 to translate the latest research on how children learn into programs, products and services that help students struggling in school become successful learners. Further information is available at: www.allkindsofminds.org.

Oak Hill School, which opened its doors in October 2006, offers a unique half-day program to students with diagnosed learning disabilities or attention deficit disorders, who are experiencing difficulties in the mainstream classroom. Further information is available at: www.oakhill.ch.
