All Kinds of Minds has spun-off two independent clinics, who work with
school-aged children and adolescents (grades 1-12) who have the types of
learning challenges experienced in general education classes. Together,
we have helped thousands of families answer questions and provide
strategies relating to students’ struggles in school.
-
Why does my child have trouble maintaining focus or seem to get distracted
easily?
-
Why does my child have difficulty with planning work, catching mistakes, or
inhibiting impulses?
-
Why does my child struggle expressing himself/herself in writing?
-
Why is reading comprehension problematic for my child?
-
Why does my child seem disorganized or have difficulty managing time
effectively?
-
Why can’t my child write legibly and efficiently?
-
Why does my child struggle with getting work completed?
-
How can my child feel motivated and have more self-esteem about his/her
homework?
-
How can my child improve his/her understanding of math, remember math
procedures, & recall math facts?
The neurodevelopmental assessments are designed for
profiling neurodevelopmental strengths and weaknesses, and linking profiles to
academic skills. The reports include a customized learning plan that
contains specific ways that you can help your child address his or her learning
difficulties.
At the same time, these services may not be suitable for everyone.
-
Children with significantly delayed cognitive functioning would benefit by
specialized assessments related to their needs. Your pediatrician should be
able to refer you to a developmental evaluation facility in your area.
-
These services do not address significant emotional or behavioral
conditions. If this is your primary concern, contact a mental health
professional.
-
These services do not provide IQ testing or standardized achievement
testing. We do not use labels (e.g., “learning disabled”) in our reports or
demystifications. Consequently, assessments are not designed to determine
eligibility for special education services.

Because of the dynamic nature of the assessments and because no labels are used
in the reports or demystifications, assessments are not designed to
determine eligibility for special education services. We can
advise you about specialized services but cannot mandate that a school use our
report. Typically, parents share the learning plan with teachers, most of whom
are receptive to specific recommendations.

* All medical and psychological services are provided by our
two affiliate clinics.
